Epilogue
So it is spoken in Dransik's Wood:
Alas for Lorien who is lost to us
For in years past, he too fell into the
Gulf
But in the gulf he perished not
And rose from the Darkness undying
(Airan kerlorien, sar etwanilon ah malin
Ker ah larantorles, ray airan rutan asintere
ah marlandlon
Ah lesse ah landlon, ray marrutan gorstaon
Eletwanion age ah shah gortaken morgorstanion)
And this song we sing here at night
When children are sleeping and know not
fright
For weak spirit quiver as the darkness
unfolds
And all fear what the future now holds
And so it is sang in Dransik's Wood
We'd all forget the tales if we could
But memory now hovers like a willow tree
Holding soft sway over you and me
Hear the wonders the woods have seen pass
And hints of the future like a looking
glass
The tales does hold for the wise they
say
While the rest tremble
And hope for the new day
